The AILA Foundation for the fight against Arthrosis and Osteoporosis
The AILA Foundation has been committed for years to promoting research and disseminating news and information to develop awareness of these two pathologies that affect millions of people, especially the elderly and women, increasingly defenseless in an aging world in which it is essential to guarantee citizens a high level of quality of life even in old age.
The AILA,with the aim of defeating these two evils of modern society, has supported innovative scientific research, not failing to underline the socio-economic aspects and implications, producing several publications (including the book “Osteoporosis: The Silent Woodworm” Gangemi Editore – 1999), organizing and participating in numerous national and international conferences.
The studies They have focused in particular on the lifestyles that can lead to the disease, on the measures to be taken to prevent it, or, when the pathology arises, on how to treat it.
Among the information campaigns promoted by AILA, the following was born: the AILA “Progetto Donna” Award which every year reserves the prestigious recognition to personalities who have distinguished themselves with their contribution and commitment to humanity and women in particular, in various sectors: in the medical, scientific, social, economic, political, cultural, journalistic, artistic, voluntary and research fields.
